Overview
Ground search and rescue services in Lockeport are provided by the Barrington Ground Search and Rescue team. This volunteer organization serves a wide area of southwestern Nova Scotia and is made up of trained members who respond to missing persons, lost hikers, and other land-based search and rescue incidents.
Search and rescue operations are coordinated through the RCMP, who activate Ground Search and Rescue when assistance is required. The Barrington team works closely with local fire departments, emergency responders, and neighbouring search and rescue teams to support safe and effective operations across the region.
