Dogs & Wildlife
To help protect the natural environment and ensure everyone can enjoy Crescent Beach safely, dogs must remain on leash at all times while visiting the beach.
Crescent Beach is also seasonal nesting habitat for the endangered Piping Plover, a small shorebird protected under federal and provincial legislation. During the nesting season (typically May through August), visitors are asked to respect posted signs and fencing, keep pets leashed, and stay on the wet sand whenever possible to help protect nesting birds and their habitat. These practices help reduce disturbance to nesting adults and chicks.
