Overview
The Town of Lockeport is governed by an elected Council consisting of a Mayor and Councillors. Council is responsible for setting municipal policy, approving budgets, establishing by-laws, and guiding the strategic direction of the community.
Members of Council are elected to serve the interests of residents and are accountable to the public through open meetings and transparent decision-making.

Elected Mayor in October 2024, the focus has remained simple: to help make Lockeport a better place. Community has always mattered deeply and continues to guide a commitment to showing up, working hard, listening, and treating people fairly. Professional experience includes leading national and international sporting events, a background in financial management, and many years working collaboratively with communities and community groups.
In Lockeport, he and his family also own and operate Salty Dogs Barkery. Outside of his mayoral duties, he can often be found walking his dogs along the beach, cooking at home, spending time with his wife Natasha and daughters Victoria and Haley, or cheering on his favourite sports teams.

Deputy Mayor

Craig Hillen, Deputy Mayor of Lockeport, was born in Ontario to Scotch-Irish parents and maintains family ties in the UK. Elected as councillor in 2024, he championed diversified economic sustainability through new partnerships, encouraging small business growth, removing barriers to boost investment and services. With 35 years in Ontario’s Solicitor-General Correctional Services, Craig advanced from Correctional Officer to Deputy Superintendent, leading staff training, labour negotiations, and operational improvements. He brings high-level expertise in leadership, crisis management, investigations, negotiation, and political strategy. Craig attended Seneca College and the University of Toronto (Creative Writing) and completed extensive law enforcement training in Ontario, Kingston, and West Virginia.
Outside work, he enjoys history, painting, writing, travel, and cooking—pursuits that shape his empathetic and collaborative leadership style. Craig and his wife Jill have four children, whose support inspires his community service.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Candace attended Mohawk College where she studied Broadcast Journalism and co-hosted a radio show. Later in life, she returned to school earning a Legal Assistant Diploma with Honours. After starting a family, there was a need for a change in pace and lifestyle, which led her to Lockeport where her roots are. In choosing Lockeport to raise her family, she is dedicated to ensuring it remains a charming yet growing Town with a vibrant future and believes in a community where every voice is heard.

Anna has lived in Lockeport for most of her life and has served the community as a Medical First Responder for 25 years. As a Town Councillor, she is committed to collaborative, thoughtful decision-making that supports public safety, fiscal responsibility, and infrastructure renewal. Lockeport is her home, and she is passionate about seeing the town continue to thrive.

Council meets on the second and fourth Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Town Office (26 North Street).
