Overview
Council committees help guide specific areas of Town business and community initiatives. Committees provide focused discussion and recommendations to Council and may include members of Council, staff, and community volunteers. Committees serve in an advisory capacity.
Active Committees
Below are current Town of Lockeport committees. Membership is approved by Council.
Accessibility Committee Supports the Town’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion. The committee works to identify barriers, recommend improvements, and promote accessibility in municipal facilities, programs, and services.
Canada Day Committee Plans and coordinates the Town of Lockeport’s annual July 1st celebrations. The committee works with volunteers, community groups, and local businesses to deliver a safe and enjoyable event for residents and visitors.
Finance Committee Reviews financial matters and provides recommendations to Council related to budgeting, financial planning, and municipal expenditures.
Heritage, Tourism & Culture Committee Supports initiatives that promote Lockeport’s history, culture, and visitor experiences, including events, interpretive projects, and tourism development.
Recreation Committee Provides advice on recreation programming, parks, and community activities that support residents of all ages.
